According to organizers, it will be a special event that will take place as a series of concerts to mark the anniversary of the famous Ukrainian composer, one of the founders of modern Ukrainian pop music, the author of 107 songs, 53 instrumental works and music for two shows Volodymyr Ivasiuk (1949-79). The concerts will be held at the Lviv Opera House on March 4-5. The works of Ivasiuk, including little known ones, will be performed live by the Shevchenko laureate vocal formation Pikkardiiska Tertsia, winner of the TV show “The Voice of the Country” Pavlo Tabakov, violin virtuoso Oleksandr Bozhyk, known as “Lviv Paganini,” winner of the 1st Kvitka Tsisyk International Competition Oksana Mukha, participant of “The Voice of the Country” Khrystyna Solovei, and the Trembita Choir. “They will perform new arrangements of old songs as an unexpected, at least upon first glance, combination of classical choir, symphony orchestra, and pop stars,” the project organizer Andrii Sydor told The Day. “This project is extremely important and necessary for society. Today, more than ever, Ukrainians must develop and promote their music!” Let us recall that the Ivasiuk Project started a year ago with four concerts held at the Lviv Opera House, open-air at Rynok Square (Lviv’s main square) and the Ukraina Palace in the capital city of Kyiv. All concerts were sold out.
