“I thought I knew something from the history of Ukraine. But after your lecture I discovered a gap in my knowledge which should be filled with answers. Thank you, Ms. Ivshyna. I am waiting for our next meeting,” IT businessman Ihor BUZNYTSKY posted on Facebook immediately after Larysa Ivshyna’s lecture at an open university of Euromaidan. The entrepreneur thanked for the lecture and promised to buy books from Den’s Library for himself and for his close friends. He supported his words with actions. During his visit to the newspaper’s editorial office, Ihor bought Ukraine Incognita, “Armor-Piercing Political Writing” and “Subversive Literature” series, The Power of the Soft Sign, and James’s Mace’s Your Dead Chose Me. With such an intellectual luggage he asked for a meeting with Larysa Ivshyna, to get to know her closer and to ask for an autograph.

“You must learn history, especially these days, in the time of Euromaidan. I felt a deja vu when I went out on a protest for the first time. We have already experienced this. What is wrong with us – we believed in changes then, but there have been no changes. Maybe, we should dig deeper? Maybe, we should start with ourselves?” Ihor BUZNYTSKY noted during his conversation with Larysa IVSHYNA. “History will give answers to these questions. It is told in the best way in your books. For this reason I have bought some books for myself and part of the books – for New Year and Christmas presents for my friends. I think they will be the best presents for holidays. Sometimes it seems that you know something from the history of our country, but you cannot use this knowledge.

“When you read Den/The Day and Larysa Ivshyna’s column, you understand that you have an essential gap in your knowledge. Honestly, it was a long time ago when I noticed Larysa Ivshyna, I can say, I ‘joined her flock,’ because we have common views on life and the situation in the country. I think it is much easier to sing songs on the Maidan or shout ‘Away with the band!’ than to read The Power of the Soft Sign. We need to think and analyze what in fact is going on. What effect will it have? We need to understand why we failed, and only after this to build a ‘behavior line.’ I am sure Den’s book will help to sort everything out.”
