Dumka Marks Eighty Years of Harmony

The Day's information The Dumka Ukrainian national choir will mark its eightieth anniversary on May 19 at the National Philharmonic Society. This concert, as well as every performance of the choir, is sure to appeal to the tastes of the most exacting connoissers of music. For the choir's repertory includes Ukrainian and foreign a capella choral music and the most refined and serious pieces of great vocal and symphonic forms. Last season alone, Dumka performed Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Verdi's Requiem, and Haydn's Seasons. These virtuoso performances were crowned by the choir's resounding success in Switzerland and France, conducted by the People's Artist of Ukraine and winner of many other honors Yevhen Savchuk. In general, the choir's itinerary crosses various continents, but performances in Kyiv are, of course, dearest to the singers' hearts.
