This year the Donetsk Opera and Ballet Theater will stage three new ballets
and three new operas. Even more, this theater's troupe makes an extended
tour of Western Europe three or four times a year. In a time when similar
establishments are in dire straits due to the economic crisis, this theater
tries to keep its own counsel. At least, this is what Vadym Pysarev, ballet
premier and artistic director of the Donetsk theater, People's Artist of
Ukraine, emphasized in Lviv where he and his charming partner and wife
Inna Dorofeyeva took part in a gala concert, The Grandees of World Ballet
on the Lviv Opera Stage. The concert became another action of the Grandees
of Art international art project being held in Lviv by Serhiy Proskurnia
and the Dzyha (Spinning Top) art association. Others also took part. Lviv
spectators were literally captivated with a perfect performance by People's
Artist of Ukraine and National Opera ballet soloist Tetiana Borovyk along
with prima ballerina of Russia's Bolshoi Theater, Merited Artist of Russia
Ilse Liepa, although the two danced in different styles. And all the other
no less renowned performers - Serhiy Shvydky, Anatoly Kozlov, Hanna Kushneriova,
Hanna Dorosh, and Maksym Bepik - performed in an equally inspired fashion,
reports Yaryna Koval, The Day.
