The famous Ukrainian sculptor and painter Oksana Mas was the special guest at the opening of the Penthouse Gallery exhibition center in Athens. Her paintings, sculptures and installations have recently excited interest, not only in our country but also abroad. One may say that she has become fashionable. Thus, her Golden Wheel (Easter eggs on a Mercedes wheel), her Sphere rolling through the Land project, and Drive, a series of oil paintings on canvas, aroused the curiosity of modern art aficionados.

“Ancient Greek philosophy, literature, visual arts, architecture are a platform for mankind; thanks to this heritage, we can create,” said Mas. “I want to say that today the impact of Ancient Greek culture on art is priceless. The exhibit in Athens is very important for me.”

She donated one of her Easter egg-filled spheres, weighing 220 kg, to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens — she had worked on it for almost four months, using 3,500 eggs in the process.

People in Washington DC are also interested in the works of the Ukrainian master, especially Marie Amatangelo, the exhibition manager of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

An exhibit was held at the Meridian International Center. It included prints on canvas: the panel View of Eternity, which is in permanent exhibition at the Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv, and Sphere of Goodness and Spiritual Renaissance.

In Switzerland, the Gallery of Modern Art exhibited three series of Mas’ works; in these works, she combines sculpture (Helium-3, Epidermism Phenomenon) and painting (People).
