Where there is no law, but every man does what is right in his own eyes, there is the least of real liberty

Harlequin, Harlequin!

13 November, 2012 - 00:00

In the interests of our working conditions and the need to be in good mood, we need a 12 centimeter ceramic jug, “oasis” (a sponge for fixing dried flowers), a quick-drying glue gun with polyethylene pins for instant gluing, a decorative paper band shaped like a shirt frill, and a length of wire-core foam rubber string that can be bent and fixed in whatever position we choose. We will also need dried flowers of various kinds along with dried willow catkins.

First we put the shirt-frill around the jug’s neck, carefully smoothing out and pasting the paper band. Then we shape the oasis hemispheric and glue it on the pot’s neck. Now we start shaping our Harlequin. Bending the foam rubber string we make two little horns and attach them to our oasis and attach flowers shaped as half-rosettes and edged with widow’s lace. All this is pasted to the oasis. Now we have the Harlequin’s headgear. The following operation needs jeweler’s precision: we have to decorate most of the “oasis” with catkins (we can use tweezers, of course). Through with this painstaking job, we put a smile on the clown’s face (better two, for here store is no sore), using something to provide him fluffy ears.

Now we need music and eye shadow. Great! Now you have yourself a special surprise for your friends!
