Jazz and children

Fourth International Children’s Jazz Festival “OKeshkin JAZZ” will be held on the stage of the Municipal Garden (in Mariinsky Park) on June 1-2. The event will be dedicated to the International Children’s Day (the festival is supported by the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine).

For two days young musicians – both soloists and children’s music bands, will perform before the audience. Stage-band consisting of professional musicians, led by famous jazz pianist and teacher Natalia Lebedieva, will work together with children. Young jazz musicians will get an opportunity not only to show what they can do already, but also to learn from senior colleagues. By tradition, a special guest – real star of Ukrainian jazz, whose name will be announced later, will perform on the stage of the festival. The host of the “OKeshkin JAZZ” festival will be, just like in previous years, its art director Oleksii Kohan. The organizers of the festival are the Center of Education and Culture “Master Class” and Production Center “Jazz in Kiev.”
