Jazz Koktebel is one of the largest and most prestigious events of its kind in Europe, involving well-known musicians from around the world. 2013 is its 11th year.

The first day’s stage will feature Petter Molvaer, a cult trumpeter, joined by a famous Norwegian DJ and producer Jan Bang who collaborated with David Sylvian, Erik Honor, Arve Henriksen, and Sidsel Endresen. The same evening will see Bonobo performing, the British electronic musician who is the face of the famous label Ninja Tune, playing pleasant and up-to-date trip-hop, downtempo and jazz compositions. His 2013 appearance in Koktebel is part of his new album The North Borders promotion tour, tsn.ua reports.

Erik Truffaz, a headliner of the festival and well-known jazz and electronic music personality, will take the stage on September 13. He is known as a bold experimenter throughout the world, combining fusion jazz with elements of trip-hop and dance music in his compositions. The audience will have a chance to dance to the sound of Telepopmusik’s electronic music on the same day. Organizers report that the band will bring a new program and a new show to the event.

September 14 will see the greatest numbers of jazz and electronic music stars. Experimenters from Leeds’s Submotion Orchestra will delight guests of the festival with juicy acid-jazz and soft dubstep. This talented team has seven members, led by the honey-voiced Ruby. Their performance will be followed right away by a famous British multi-instrumentalist and composer Patrick Wolf’s program. The musician marked the first decade of his creative activity in 2012, releasing a double album Sundark and Riverlight containing acoustic versions of his best songs. Koktebel will get to see Wolf performing this program in Ukraine for the first time.

Jazz Koktebel will offer a highly diverse music entertainment to the audiophiles. In particular, this will include the quality British new-five compositions performed by British Sea Power. Its fans appreciate the band’s liking for art-rock and live entertainment. Energetic and artistic shows as well as original costumes form the group’s identity. Contemporary jazz stars from Red Snapper team will finish the day’s program. Their music does not fit into some clear-cut style typology. All their works are full of not only trip-hop and dub, but vigorous acid-jazz and blues, too. This pioneering acid-jazz group disbanded in the early 2000s, only to reunite in 2008. New incarnation of Red Snapper has proved no less able to delight the audiophiles with their brilliant experiments where seemingly electronic sound is created by instruments, not computers...

The jazz forum is an occasion to really experience the most vivid and unforgettable positive emotions, and feel all the fullness of life. Koktebel: there is a place for happiness!
