Ruslana on Tour in Europe

23 November, 2004 - 00:00

Just in the last week alone, the winner of Eurovision flew twice to Belgium and twice to Russia, with just enough time left for a performance in Germany. “These days sleeping on a plane is more normal for me than in bed,” Ruslana said in an interview with Podrobytsi . In Belgium she performed the European version of her “Wild Dances” album, met with members of the Ukrainian diaspora, appeared on a television talk show, and sang a duet with the famous Belgian operatic tenor Helmut Lotti. Aside from promoting her album and new single “Dances with Wolves” — her same-titled video will premiere in late November — Ruslana is preparing for the next Eurovision contest. As she puts it, she wants the contest to be held on a high level and be as grand as the Academy Awards Ceremony in the US.

Ruslana will spend only a few days in Kyiv. In the immediate future she has performances scheduled in Bulgaria, Turkey, Slovakia, Romania, and the Baltic republics. Ruslana is also preparing a present for her Ukrainian fans: her first solo concert in Kyiv.
