Where there is no law, but every man does what is right in his own eyes, there is the least of real liberty

day-2

The Editors and the late Anatoly Kazansky's relatives wish to thank
all those who shared our grief in his untimely demise.

Last Thursday dozens and dozens of people, relatives, colleagues,
and friends visited The Day's office to pay their last respects
to the brilliant artist Anatoly Kazansky. There were no speeches. Just
tears. Everything was very simple. And very painful. A talented artist
had been taken by death and was seen off on his last journey with love.
This love is still with us, it is in his gifted works and shall be there
forever.

Dear Friends:

It was with deep grief and pain that I learned of the tragic death of
Anatoly Kazansky, your colleague and my favorite cartoonist.

His brilliant, easily identifiable sketches created The Day's
singular visage, never failing to amaze the reader by their wisdom, irony,
and unfailing taste.

Unfortunately, I did not know him personally, but with his cartoons
Mr. Kazansky placed the reader in an inimitable atmosphere of cultural
affinity and warm understanding.

I can only imagine how you must feel now, having had the honor of knowing
and working with Mr. Kazansky. My friends, I am with you in your sorrow.

God rest his soul! He is no longer with us but he is alive in our memories.

Serhiy PUSHKAR, lawyer, manager of a law firm
