The Kharkiv aircraft plant staged a presentation of a new serial product, AN-140, to replace AN-24, the most widespread aircraft inherited from the USSR, reports The Day’s Mykhailo Bidenko. Basically, the An-140 seats 52 passengers or 20 passengers and 3,650 kilogram payload. It is propelled by reliable engines developed by the Zaporizhzhia’s Prohres Design Bureau and currently manufactured by Motor-Sich. The first flight is scheduled for the end of this year and customers will start receiving the aircraft next year.
