70.42% of Poll Participants Want to See Ukraine in the EU

21 December, 00:00

Two-thirds (70.42%) of respondents who have taken part in an international interactive survey are convinced that Ukraine should join the European Union. These are the preliminary results of a poll being conducted by the online version of The EUReporter, a European independent business newspaper. Anyone can answer the newspaper’s questions. Almost 35,000 people have taken part in the interactive survey in the first three days since December 14. Respondents are requested to choose one of four suggested answers about whether or not Turkey and Ukraine should be admitted to the European Union. Asked if Ukraine should join the EU, 70.42% answered in the affirmative. Only a tiny fraction of respondents, 7.28%, think that Ukraine should not be an EU member. At the same time, as few as 12.61% of respondents believe that Turkey should be allowed to join the EU, while 9.7% are flatly opposed to Turkey’s membership in the EU.
