Diplomat from the German Embassy Gabriel Auer hit the bull's eye when he suggested that his colleagues play blitz-soccer. Many people loved the idea and ten embassies, the Hans Seidel Fund, Narodny Rukh of Ukraine, the Kyiv Post newspaper, and Studio 1+1 television sent their teams to participate in the tournament.
In the finals Ramburs defeated the Hans Seidel Fund by scoring two goals to zero. Kyiv Post beat Studio 1+1 and won third place. However, the Netherlands Embassy team got the most applause – it was constituted by ladies only. Rukh, which was the first to play the Amazons, awarded them with a wooden mace, the prize for bravery.
