Canadian Diaspora Ready To Support Ukraine

At a meeting with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Anatoly Zlenko during his official visit in Canada leaders of Ukrainian organizations in Canada confirmed their readiness to lobby Ukraine’s interests abroad. Victor Pedenko, Secretary of the World Congress of Ukrainians uniting over 20 million Ukrainians abroad, stated at the meeting that Ukraine has to make maximum use of its diaspora’s capabilities. Mr. Zlenko on his part expressed confidence that “the present internal political situation will teach Ukraine a lesson and unite its people.” Canadian Prime Minister Jean ChrОtien at a meeting with Zlenko also confirmed that the Canadian side will further promote Ukraine’s interests within the G7.
