1919: Ukraine and Poland call a truce.

1930: The CC of the CP(b)U forward the circular “On the Course of Collectivization and Kolkhoz Construction in Ukraine,” ordering to complete collectivization in the spring of 1930.

1966: The 23rd Congress of the CPSU is called to order, in the course of which Leonid Brezhnev is elected General Secretary of the CC CPSU.

1986: The 2,500,000th Zaporozhets car comes off the conveyor line at the Komunar Motor Works in Zaporizhia.

1987: An official soiree commemorating the 100th anniversary of Les Kurbas, a reform-minded stage director and organizer of the Ukrainian theater, is held in Kyiv.

1990: The constituent convention of the Ukrainian Working People’s Association for Socialist Restructuring is held in Kyiv.

1996: The People’s Democratic Party of Ukraine is established, based on the Party of Democratic Rebirth and the New Ukraine Association.
