1106: Prince Volodymyr Monomakh II of Kyivan Rus’ draws up his famous Instruction (also known as The Testament) to his children.

1918: In Brest-Litovsk, the delegations of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the Central Powers sign an exclusive protectorate treaty, notably involving the territories of Halychyna, and Bukovyna.

1918: Soviet troops under Muravyov’s command enter Kyiv after several days of artillery siege.
