1672: Hetman Petro Doroshenko of Ukraine seizes Kamianets-Podilsky.

1924: Date of birth in Kyiv of Mykhailo Braichevsky, Ukrainian historian, archaeologist, man of letters, public figure, specializing in Kyivan Rus’ history and ancient Slavic culture.

1946: The Soviet [Council] of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR adopts a decree establishing the State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts in Lviv.

1994: In the course of PRC President Jiang Zemin’s official visit to Ukraine, cooperation agreements in the fields of maritime and commercial shipping, postal and electronic communications are signed, along with ones between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Public Security of the PRC.

2000: The UN Millennium Summit convenes. President of Ukraine comes up with a number of proposals aimed at raising the international community of nations to a “higher level” in terms of international relations.
