1934: The maiden flight of Maxim Gorky, a 63-meter wingspan ANT-20, the world’s largest aircraft at the time.

1944: CC CP(B)U adopts a decree on aid to the communist party of Czechoslovakia in the organization of a partisan movement in that country.

1946: The Soviet Interior Ministry works out a detailed plan for “maximum destruction of the OUN underground and its armed units.”

1955: The maiden flight of the Soviet TU-104 passenger jet.

1990: The All-Union Congress of the Chornobyl Union ends in Kyiv.

1990: The constituent conference of the Ukrainian People’s Democratic Party ends in Kyiv.

1993: Ukraine and Russia sign an agreement, and announce a joint communique on the priority formation of the fleets of Russia and Ukraine, based on the Black Sea Fleet and on a fifty-fifty basis.

2005: The International Investment Forum (“mini Davos”) ends in Kyiv.
