1914: After returning from Lviv to Kyiv, Mykhailo Hrushevsky is arrested, and exiled to Simbirsk (Russia).

1917: The First Congress of Soviets convenes in Kharkiv and proclaims a Soviet Ukrainian Republic.

1919: Bolsheviks in Ukraine establish an authority vested with extraordinary powers, the All-Ukrainian Revolutionary Committee (Vseukrrevkom) chaired by Hryhorii Petrovsky.

1919: Vseukrrevkom adopts a manifesto addressing the workers and peasants of Ukraine.

1990: The Association of Farmers of Ukraine is registered with the Ministry of Justice.

1991: The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passes resolutions establishing diplomatic relations with former Soviet republics and recognizing the national independence of Slovenia and Croatia.

2004: Ukraina Channel broadcasts live presidential candidate Viktor Yanukovych’s marathon involving his supporters.
