1649: Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky’s diplomatic envoys, led by Colonel Fedir Veshniak, reach Moscow to convey Khmelnytsky’s joint action plan against the Polish Kingdom.

1881: Date of birth of Oleksandr Bohomolets, a prominent Ukrainian pathophysiologist, political and public figure, author of a number of works on biology, physiology, and pathology.

1918: Ukraine’s political parties agree on the establishment of the Ukrainian National Association.

1940: The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America is founded in Washington.

1964: The Ukrainian section of the Library at the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR is set on fire by malefactors.

1972: The Soviet Union and the United States sign an agreement in Moscow on the study and use of space for peaceful purposes.

1991: The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine registers the Green Party.
