1913: Odesa Conservatoire of Music is founded.

1917: The first Ukrainian National Congress convenes in Kyiv.

1920: The first convention of Poor Peasants’ Committees is held in Kharkiv.

1941: Sydir Kovpak and Semen Rudnev are placed in command of the Soviet partisan units at Putyvl (Sumy oblast), forming the Putyvl Partisan Detachment.

1945: Uzhhorod University is founded.

1991: The Soviet Union enacts the Law “On the Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repression” that nullifies all previous court and extrajudicial rulings since October 1917.

1995: Ukraine joins the Council of Europe.

1995: Ukrainian and Polish foreign ministers sign a bilateral economic cooperation and trade agreement.

1996: The Constitutional Court of Ukraine is founded.

2011: Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, and Tajikistan sign an agreement on CIS free trade area.
