1905: Mutiny breaks out on board the cruiser Ochakov and other ships of the Black Sea Fleet.

1934: The Central Executive Committee and the Council of People’s Commissars of the USSR adopt a decree establishing a military council at the People’s Commissariat of defense.

1990: The constituent assembly of the Liberal Democratic Party of Ukraine is called to order in Kyiv.

2004: The Central Election Committee proclaims Viktor Yanukovych’s victory (49.6 percent of votes) over Viktor Yushchenko (46.61 percent) as President of Ukraine.

2004: The UN urges all parties to the election conflict in Ukraine to display maximum restraint.

2006: President Viktor Yushchenko of Ukraine instructs the government to form a commission to make arrangements with Russia’s authorities for the transfer from Moscow to Ukraine of the remains of Oleksandr Dovzhenko and his wife Yulia Solntseva.
