The crime level in Ukraine is so high, that the MBB Security Cars Company, which specializes in making bulletproof automobiles decided it worthwhile to open a representative office in our country, according to Dr. Werner Rash.
Until recently the company had two foreign representative offices, in Moscow and Mexico. In each city 2000 such vehicles are on the streets. There are no official data about Kyiv, but some unofficial sources report individual clients purchased five such cars this year. The Crimean Republic has also purchased one armored car for transporting money.
Kyiv’s MBB Director Heorhy Zozulia admitted, the S class limousines have already sparked interest, but demand is low: 10 to 20 cars a year.
Demand for armored cars for money is higher — up to 1000. This figure may also grow if the inflation makes the NBU switch on the money-printing machines. Representatives of security and cash transporting services had good reason to be the main guests at the office-warming. MBB in cooperation with Artem Plant intends to launch a joint assembly line to make and equip such vehicles.
The upcoming presidential race may serve as another factor to increase the demand for armored cars, because politicians can use them as either shelters or tribunes, depending on circumstances.
