Youth offers projects and solutions to make society healthier

The youth project “Make the Society Healthier!” recently selected 50 winners of the essay competition. It was carried out by the Klitchko Brothers Foundation together with Conrad Adenauer Foundation, as reported by the press service of the Klitchko Brothers Foundation. The next step in reaching the main purpose of the project, which is to create a model of a healthy society in Ukraine, will be “Creative studios” work with the competition winners. The project began with the essay competition, aimed at encouraging the youth to think about how it can participate in creating a healthy society, and identifying young leaders interested in such a goal. The Klitchko Brothers Foundation received around 200 essays from different parts of Ukraine, which were read and assessed by independent experts. The experts’ board included Vitaly Klitchko (Klitchko Brothers Foundation founder and chairman of the board), Niko Lange (Conrad Adenauer Foundation office in Ukraine head), Mykola Zhulynsky (Ukrainian philologist, Shevchenko Institute of literature of Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences director, academician of UNAS) and others. In their essays the competition winners touch upon many contemporary subjects, and provide useful recommendations. After the second stage every “Creative studios” participant or group of participants will suggest their own project for creating a model of healthy society, using examples from their communities (school, town, community and so on). The 10 best projects will receive, from the Klitchko Brothers Foundation and Conrad Adenauer Foundation, a sum of 3,000 hryvnias each. The authors of the most successful model of a healthy society in their community will have an opportunity to visit Germany and share their experience with their foreign colleagues.

Intel Processors Officially Presented in Ukraine

The world's leading producer of innovative semiconductor elements, Intel, recently staged an official presentation of the new i3, i5 and i7 processors from Intel® Core™ in Kyiv. They are produced according to the technical norms of the 32 nm Tec process. Intel Ukraine explained that the new processors allow better element integration, and reduce both energy consumption and the generation of heat. What truly sets the new processors apart is “smart” efficiency – an ability to dynamically adapt to starting program needs by providing more power when necessary, and decreasing energy consumption, leading to complete disconnection of non-working elements when power is not needed. This is enabled by the Intel® Turbo Boost technology, a dynamic adaptive acceleration control of one or two cores, and the Intel® Hyper-Threading2 technology, the ability of each core to execute two threads simultaneously. Another specificity of the devices is the graphics core, integrated into processor, and dual channel memory control, integrated into the chip. The domestic computer market players have already announced their expectations concerning the increases of demand spurred by the appearance of the new technology.
