The Harvest of Sorrow, a film based on the book by a celebrated American historian Robert Conquest, was shown in New York as part of the Week to Commemorate Ukrainian Manmade Famine of 1932-33, held at the UN Headquarters. The film has become one of the most expressive accusations against the Stalinist totalitarian regime of its crimes against the Ukrainian people. Noted American researcher of Holodomor Prof. James Mace delivered a speech before the film. According to Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry, this event, aimed to draw the international community’s attention to the seventieth anniversary of the tragic events, was attended by Ukraine’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Volodymyr Yelchenko.
