The Roksolana House of trade is hosting an itinerant exhibit organized by the Kyiv Union of Artists. Bright flowers on canvases contributed by local female artists Lidiya Datsenko, Tetiana Demianenko, and the Sleta sisters, Oksana and Olha, are skillfully arranged with live bouquets, Roksolana's famed specialty. The art show at such an unusual place was made possible thanks to Olena Dobrutska, formally the firm's second in command. "We've always tried to create a cozy nonstandard interior in our flower store," she says. "We even have a kind of art gallery lining the stairs, so when the artists proposed the exhibit I was glad to cooperate, the more so that it opened on the eve of March 8 which I have always considered a very special occasion. Apart from being International Women's Day, it is also the birthday of my husband, Ihor Dobrutsky, Roksolana's director.
