Maria Matsiuk, tourism manager at the Center for Tourism Information and Services, came to the opening of The Day’s Photo Exhibition not only out of sheer curiosity but also because she wants to understand what attracts people to such presentations all over Ukraine. For two years she studied at the Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin and noticed how many various exhibitions were organized there: photo, art exhibitions and exhibitions of ethnic culture. Matsiuk also said that young people in Poland are the most active visitors and the biggest fans of such exhibitions. They come to such events not because they want to skip a class but for their own development. Since the Center for Tourism Information and Services works on making the city more attractive for tourists and is first to welcome potential visitors, The Day’s Photo Exhibition, according to Matsiuk, will become one of the attractions on the cultural map of the city.

After a long winter break classes started in the Eastern European National University only on February 4 but there are already notes from students and university professors in the guest book of the photo exhibition.

“Every photograph is as if a puzzle, which is a part of great panel named Ukraine!” (Ihor Olshevsky, writer.)

“Many thanks for titanic efforts in organizing this exhibition. It is a feast for a soul. There are thoughts, memories, reminders of what we are and what we are worth in this world here.” (students of 31 group of distance learning)

“I am fascinated with the photos Wings and Hutsul Hike. I recognize my Ukraine in all of these photos. It is beautiful, unique, proud, and also confused and helpless as we can see in the photo Two Truths. Thanks to The Day which will hopefully help us to find the only Truth.” (students of the 6th grade and their class teacher, school No. 25, Lutsk)

“Thank you for the great job – bringing the truth and love closer to people!” (students of the Lutsk Basic Medical College.)

The Day’s Photo Exhibition will be open in Lutsk until February 17, 2013 at the library of Lesia Ukrainka Eastern European National University on weekdays from 9 a.m. till 6 p.m. Admission is free.
