Kinakh Not to Cling to His Chair

03 September, 00:00

Prime Minister Anatoly Kinakh said, he “takes a very philosophical view” of “all the ado over the office of government head” and that his attitude toward work will not depend on the duration of his tenure. The head of the cabinet stated this when asked by journalists whether he might resign this fall. “My chief task in the context of personal responsibility for the socioeconomic indicators of this country’s development is to work effectively, by modern methods, on the basis of high-skilled public management, to do my best to ensure not only the current viability of the state but also to further deepen and develop the market-oriented democratic reforms,” he stressed. According to Mr. Kinakh, “An individual who reduces his vision of work to the attempts to cling to his official chair as long as possible is a slave without inner or outer freedom.” The premier is certain he “will never be someone like this,” Interfax-Ukraine reports.
