The premiere of the art project entitled “Noble Vechornytsi: Ukrainian High Style” is scheduled to take place in the Ball Room of the Hyatt Regency Kyiv hotel on June 3. Tetyana Mironova’s gallery and the Kraina Mrii (Dreamland) Festival are initiating a series of ethnic-style soirees.

Since the time immemorial elite social gatherings have been an obligatory part of the high life. This new art project aims at reviving the tradition of patronage, so a charity auction will be its central event. Paintings on the topic “The Magic of Ukrainian Love Song” will be presented by such artists as Anatolii Kryvolap, Viktor Sydorenko, Oleksandr Zhyvotkov, Vladyslav Shereshevsky, Serhii Hai, and others. The money raised will be donated to the International Charity Fund for Ukrainian Students and Young Scientists.

The VV group leader Oleh Skrypka accompanied by Le Grand Orchestra (France) will perform modern Ukrainian love songs exclusively for Noble Vechornytsi. Nina Matvienko, a champion of Ukrainian folk songs, will present samples of Ukrainian baroque and urban love songs together with Kostiantyn Chechenia’s Ancient Music Ensemble. Medieval chants and epic composition of the Cossack era will also be performed at the soiree.

Some refined garments will be demonstrated. For instance, designer Liudmyla Nahorna is going to focus on the traditional Ukrainian urban clothes of the 18th and 19th centuries. Lilia Pustovit will present her original designs, which combine haute couture with ethnic motifs.

“Ukrainian art should be perceived as one of the powerful components of the world’s cultural heritage,” notes Tetyana Mironova, an organizer of the event. “Gatherings of the nobility were first held in Ukraine back in the 16th and17th centuries. It is owing to them that the philosophical and literary heritage of Hryhorii Skovoroda, a unique philosopher who created the foundation of the Ukrainian high style, has been preserved for the descendants. In the 19th century the lofty traditions of patronage and charity and the collections of national art, which are the defining elements of the nobility, were initiated by the Halahans, the Khanenkos, and the Tarnovskys in the aristocratic salons of Kyiv.”

It should be mentioned that some top politicians and public figures, as well representatives of the business and cultural elites of our country have been invited to Noble Vechornytsi. The guests have been asked by the organizers to follow a certain dress code: evening dress with ethnic elements.
