Our children grow up very fast. The credit for this must go today to us,
above all. We have no time to be real parents. As soon as our son or daughter
begins to understand "Don't open it," "Don't come in," "You can't," "I'll
come back soon," and "I have to make money," we rush to work. If we have
a job. We are afraid of becoming unemployed. If there is no work, we persistently
look for it, agreeing to anything. The child must be fed and clothed, he/she
must have a computer, roller skates, and lots of other things, so necessary
in today's situation. Then will comes high school, college, and prestigious
universities. But perhaps all this is only worldly vanity, and we should
resign to small incomes and not slave away 10-12 hours a day, but simply
read a fairy tale to our youngsters, kiss and speak to the person dearest
to us. We should not spare our time. The joy of communication will be fruitful.
Stop. Look around. Let there be no sad faces in the windows of our homes
where our children so await parental warmth.
