Where there is no law, but every man does what is right in his own eyes, there is the least of real liberty

Moroz convinced of falsification

31 March, 1998 - 00:00

Parliament Speaker Oleksandr Moroz made no secret of who he voted for, telling journalists that he voted for his Socialist Party and for the Communist candidate in the district where he lives.

Of course, the Speaker is convinced that the new Parliament will be further to the Left, which even planned massive falsification of results by the Executive Branch. In addition to the Communists, Moroz also sees the Social Democrats as his possible allies.

He believes the victory of the Left is historically inevitable because “people see that the current course is a dead end and want to live differently.” He believes the current authorities have done something quite different from what they promised

Moroz is convinced that the voters are wise enough not to be taken in by propaganda and candidate’s promises. Answering the charge that he was collaborating with Lazarenko, Moroz reminded reporters that it was President Kuchma, not he, who brought his latter day bete noire to Kyiv in the first place and helped him into Parliament.
