«A Real Home For Every Child»

14 September, 00:00

This is precisely the title chosen for a project unique for the Lviv area, initiated by a British-based European charitable children organization and the Lviv oblast administration Department of Family and Youth headed by Yaroslav Koshuba. Assuming with reason that orphanages are not the best place for abandoned children, the project organizers endeavor to introduce the West European experience of family-type houses in the Lviv area. For that purpose, four buildings, each worth $15,000, have been bought in the Stary Sambir district, one of the poorest in the oblast. If need be, the British will supply furniture and other indispensable items to the houses. The region administration has announced a vacancy for parents of families with several children, and the competition is now taking place. Only parents wishing to bring up five to ten children, including their own, are allowed to participate.
