On December 21, Oleksa Hudyma, People's Deputy and the former
chairman Lviv regional organization of the People's Movement (Rukh) of
announced his switching to the Reforms and Order Party (PRP).
He justified this act by a number of Vyacheslav Chornovil's undemocratic
actions which he could no longer tolerate. Hudyma said that this step had
been agreed on with his allies in Rukh, but they will decide individually
whether to jump ship for PRP. On the other hand, at a joint press-conference
with chairman of PRP's Lviv oblast organization Yuri Shveda, both politicians
confirmed the coordinated parties' course for putting up a joint presidential
candidate, creating a joint faction in Parliament, and, in the more distant
future, a right-centrist party.
