Last Wednesday The Day played host to Serhiy Parashyn and Volodymyr Bronnykov (in the photo), ex-managers of the Chornobyl and Zaporizhzhia nuclear power stations. They shed more light on the situation that has developed after Parashyn’s replacement and the foundation of the national company, Enerhoatom. Both think that the new company is unable to effectively manage Ukraine’s nuclear power stations, which means endangering the industry’s key factor, safety. Moreover, Enerhoatom is fostering an atmosphere of irresponsibility - i.e., neither the company nor the stations will be responsible for what is actually going on. More on this in subsequent issues.
