Valery Pustovoitenko’s program on fighting budget deadbeats is full in progress in Sumy oblast.
The acting head of State Tax Administration in the oblast Serhiy Boiko told The Day that as of August 17 his employees had seized 365 service vehicles worth Hr 1,460,000. Another 32 cars totaling approximately Hr 325,000 have been taken to penalty parking. In case the enterprises which own these service cars fail to pay off the debt to the state budget and pensions fund within five days, their autos will be sold through the local department of the State Property Fund.
In addition, tax men have so far made 2285 reports on impounding debtors’ property totaling Hr191.5 million. Major assets have been seized at 101 enterprises, which are on the road to bankruptcy due to their shortage of funds.
