March 27 1943. The The Council of People’s Commissars of Ukrainian SSR ratified a decision on creating the State Literary-Artistic Museum of Taras Shevchenko.

March 27 1993. The first presentation of Kyivska Pectoral, a yearly theater prize, took place in Kyiv.

March 28 1708. Russian Tsar Peter I issued an ukase on replacing the church Slavonic font with a secular one.

April 2 1991. A Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation between the Ukrainian SSR and Kyrgyzstan Republic was signed in Bishkek.
