November 18 1917. The first issue of the newspaper Proletarskaya mysl appeared in Kyiv.

1993. Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START-1).

November 19 1643. The first known grammar of the Old Ukrainian literary language, The Slovenian Grammar by Uzhevych, was published.

1991. The First All-Ukrainian Interfaith Forum was convened in Kyiv.

November 20 1917. The Central Rada’s Third Universal (decree) proclaimed the Ukrainian People’s Republic as an autonomous part of democratic Russia.

1994. President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, on an official visit to the USA, signed a charter on Ukrainian-US partnership, friendship, and cooperation.
