Oct. 9 1928: The Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Theological Seminary is founded in Lviv.

1944: The NKVD of the USSR issues a directive on the liquidation of “OUN gangs” in western Ukraine.

Oct. 10 1932: The Institute of Physics and Technology carries out the Soviet Union’s first nuclear fission through a reaction on lithium.
