Sept. 16 1651: The Ukrainian Cossacks launch an uprising in Bila Tserkva to demonstrate their dissatisfaction with the terms of the treaty signed with the Polish Kingdom.

1914: The first Ukrainian Sich Riflemen in the Austro-Hungarian army swear allegiance to the struggle for Ukraine’s liberation.

Sept. 21 1841: A medical faculty is founded at Kyiv University (today’s Bohomolets Ukrainian State Medical University).

1993: The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine accepts Prime Minister Leonid Kuchma’s resignation and releases him from his official duties.

Sept. 22 1943: The Soviet Southwestern and Southern fronts complete their Donbas offensive, which results in the liberation of this region.

1993: Ukraine’s Ministry of Justice registers the All-Ukrainian Association of Entrepreneurs (VOP).
