Where there is no law, but every man does what is right in his own eyes, there is the least of real liberty
Henry M. Robert

All Are Equal Before the Law Except criminals and public servants

Thousands teachers demand their salaries be paid off, while Prime Minister Pustovoitenko satisfies needs only of some.

On June 8 he signed a decree giving disabled Nadezhda Laptsun a VAZ 2108 automobile, which was impounded at the customs point in Hlukhiv. Hungry miners are beating their helmets on the pavement just outside of the Cabinet of Ministers, while five top level state organizations — the Ministry on Family and Youth, State Customs Service, the Ministry of Finance, Internal Affairs Ministry, and the Cabinet of Ministers — are studying how to hand over one used car.

On June 8 Pustovoitenko opened his heart to the problems of the Myr International Charity Fund and signed a decree approving customs registration of a Scania truck, manufactured in 1991. The truck is far beyond the 5 years limit, set for importing used cars into Ukraine.

On the same day, considering the successful work of Leonid Kadeniuk in the space, Pustovoitenko signed a decree on granting the general major the bonus of Hr 15,000. The Ministry of Finance was assigned to exempt this sum from income tax. The Day does not mean to belittle Mr. Kadeniuk’s achievements, but what prevented him from giving a sum from which he could receive his Hr 15,000 and still pay his taxes?

These three exceptions, which happened to take place during one working day of the Prime Minister, show that exceptions have become rule.
