29 May, 00:00
By Yana MOISEYENKOVA, The Day "Budget revenues in May have been very poor. Because of the holidays we lost at least 300 million hryvnias, Finance Minister Ihor Mitiukov told journalists on March 25.

According to Interfax-Ukraine data, as of May 18 only UAH 300 million had reached budget coffers, which is only 20% of planned revenue for the current month, 28% of the lowest permissible revenues agreed upon in the memorandum on economic policy signed by Ukraine and the IMF, and the lowest figure since the beginning of the year.

As a whole, the state has collected budget revenues of UAH 4.2 billion, 23% of that planned for the year. The memorandum provides that budget revenues from January through May be 5 billion. Simultaneously, the Minister of Finance assured journalists that all IMF demands (the issue of Ukraine getting its next EFF loan installment is expected to be decided in the next few days) will be met. That means by the end of Whitsunday (Pentecost), the next holiday (and day off) awaiting us.
