The Ukrainian stock exchange is calm now. Things should become livelier when the State Property Fund offers a stock package of the Styrol open stock company. The package consists of 4,827,162 shares, which constitute 17.79% of the authorized fund of the enterprise. It is possible that the SPF will make the offering at market price, but nobody knows if brokers will agree. The price of Styrol shares are likely to fall and the bids will show how low.
On May 5 the Ukrainian Financial Bourse conducted trading in its Kyiv, Eastern Ukrainian, Ivano-Frankivsk, Luhansk, and South Ukrainian branches.
Shares of 44 companies were put on sale in Kyiv. However, only one agreement was signed. Naftokhimik Prykarpattya (Carpathian Petrochemicals) put up for sale 388,564 shares at the starting price of Hr 4. Only after the price dropped to Hr 2.80 were 5000 shares traded.
The East-Ukrainian branch was the most active. As a result the bid price grew to Hr 0.45. Natsional put on sale 10,975 shares at a starting price of Hr 4.5. 100 shares sold at this price, another 100 went for Hr 4 per share. The rest of the package was purchased for Hr 3.5 a share.
In Ivano-Frankivsk the SPF offered 33 enterprises, but only three managed to sell their shares. The whole 12,532 share package of Berezhany Oil was sold at face (Hr 0.25).
