Pivdenmash to Cooperate with Boeing

13 November, 2012 - 00:00

The carrying out of Sea Launch program, launch of US satellites from Baikonur using Zenith rockets, and Ukraine's participation in Boeing corporation programs were discussed during Boeing Vice President Jim Albo's visit to the Pivdenmash (Southern Machinery) complex in Dnipropetrovsk.

"We expect up to 2000 satellites, 600-700 of them geostationary, will be launched within next few years. Zenith has excellent qualities needed for this type of satellites launching," Jim Albo stated during the press-conference. He believes, his visit to Pivdenmash and acquaintance with the factory's potential provides a wonderful opportunity to expand further cooperation with Ukraine.

Not only Sea Launch and rocket technologies were discussed. "The corporation is not able to cope with all its orders and we will participate in Boeing's aircraft program," underlined Pivdenmash Director Yuri Alekseyev.
