The State Property Fund (SPF) of Ukraine is planning to transfer to the state budget nearly Hr 30 million received from privatization and then the total volumes of the money the budget will receive from privatization in the first two and a half months of 1998 will reach 81 million. The SPF press service reported that in the second half of March nearly 50 million more is expected to be transferred to the state budget. According to the SPF, in January-February, 1998 seven large purchase/sale agreements were signed for over 47 million hryvnias. From March 3 to March 11, state-owned shares in companies worth another 47 million were sold through stock exchanges. According to the SPF experts, this shows that bidding via stock exchanges has picked up greatly. In general, the state budget is expected to receive 1,040,000,000 hryvnias from privatization in 1998. Two-thirds of this sum is expected in the second half.
