Ukraine, including Lviv oblast, Russia, and the Baltic states should take part in an environmental project to keep the Baltic Sea basin clean, said Swedish Ambassador to Ukraine, Gjoran Jakobsson, during his May 15 meeting with Lviv mayor Vasyl Kuibida. Lviv participation, he said, is important since the oblast is located on the main European watershed, consumes water from Black Sea basin rivers, and its waste goes there. He also discussed implementing future joint projects to modernize heat piping and distribution in Lviv, as well as to construct a garbage processing plant.
