The OTC stock trading system still remains the main activity indicator for stock market operators. Today this is especially noticeable when the chances are high that the counteragent will fail to fulfill his commitments. Because participants in the bids regulated by the Association’s rules have some sort of inner calm: their risk of losing their money (stock) is not high.
System turnover was Hr 3,073,772 last week. This is twice that of the previous week. Deals with 14 issuers were made accounting for 70.08% of the overall turnover, while transactions in sort term domestic bonds comprised 20.94%.
In truth, it is not clear whether the rise in turnover is cause for gladness or not. Chances are that high that some traders are simply closing out their positions because their losses today will be less than tomorrow. The dollar will also reinforce its position at the expense of the weakening hryvnia. Today’s slogan could be that if you did not lose your money today, then you earned it. On the financial markets the only investors now able to make money are those ready to sign long term contracts (three years and over).
The highest turnover volume was registered by the Slavutych brewery, almost 33%. This enterprise has long piqued the interest of foreign investors. Other leading issuers making deals were among yesterday’s and doubtless tomorrow’s favorites - Dniproenerho (7.69%), Ukrnafta (7.45%), and Stirol (0.94%).
The OTC weekly index showed a slight decline (3.04%) and halted at 24.82. Further index decline is still possible.
