The Ministry of Transport has decided to lower the fees for transporting some types of freight by rail and hopes to recoup the resultant losses by raising domestic passenger fares 18%. The fee for transporting iron ore from the Kamysh-Burunsky iron ore combine is to be reduced by 27%, for nitrate fertilizers by 20%, for ammonia and imported coke by 11% within state quotas. According to Infobank, the rate reductions will cost 14.2 million hryvnias.
