Art work of a painter and scholar

Exhibition “Painting of Roman Yatsiv at All Times” opened at the central hall of the Rivne Gallery of European Paintings “Euro-Art” (Myru Street 4). The exhibition features paintings of the famous Lviv artist, participant of many exhibitions, whose paintings are stored in private collections in Ukraine, Germany, Canada, and the USA, and also a scholar, art historian, vice rector of Lviv Academy of Arts, Professor, and also resident expert and a great friend of The Day newspaper Roman Yatsiv.

Yatsiv came to the opening of the exposition and The Day truly envies those, who had the opportunity to personally talk with the Professor – an extremely interesting person, a man of encyclopedic knowledge, whose main area of academic interest is Ukrainian art of the 20th and 21st centuries. Yatsiv is the author of over 500 academic and popular publications, including monographs and albums, in particular, the books Lviv Graphic Art in the 1945-1990s, Ukrainian Art of the 20th century: Ideas, Phenomena, Materials, Oleksa Shatkivsky and Ukrainian Art Group “Spokii,” Sculptor Emmanuil Mysko: Light of Life, Pavlo Kovzhun. 1896-1939, Liubomyr Roman Kuzma (1913-2004): Art and Journalistic Heritage, Ukrainian Art Exhibitions in Lviv (1919-39): Handbook, Anthology of Artistic and Critical Thoughts, and Ideas, Meanings, Interpretations of Art: Ukrainian Theoretical Idea of the 20th Century.

The exhibition “Painting of Roman Yatsiv at All Times” at the art gallery “Euro-Art” (Myru Avenue 4, Rivne) will be open until May 12.
