The first three dogs in the team of the musher Sonny Linder pulled right after the official restart of the Iditarod (in Athapascan means “distant place”) in Wilow, Alaska.

The race started on March 2 and will continue for 8-15 days. The route is over 1,000 miles. The informal name of the race is “The Last Great Race on Earth.” Iditarod was first held in 1973 and since then has taken place annually. Teams of 12-16 dogs mainly of Husky breed participate in the race.

The breed has become increasingly popular in Ukraine. Husky originated in Greenland, but despite their northern origin, they easily adapt to different climate.
