Art critics call this artist one of the most successful young artists of Ukraine. Only in the past five years Mykhailo Deiak has held 10 solo and 16 group exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad. Western critics highly praised his architectural style at the European festival Art Monaco, where Deiak’s paintings were presented as a part of Art Collection presentation.

At his anniversary solo exhibition the artist presented 22 new paintings created by the author in the past six months. The exhibition is free for Kyiv residents and tourists.

Deiak’s art work traditionally verges between the world of ideas and the world of things. The artist creatively reinvents the casual gray images of everyday life and depicts them using bright colors.

“Color affects consciousness, changes mood, and even heals. I believe that people could and should be positively influenced by bright, warm, positive colors. This exhibition is a new wave of my emotions,” said Deiak. “Most of the presented paintings are of a large format. I am convinced that this is the right way to impress the lovers of art and make them think. Colorful paintings sooth and make person relax. I invite everyone to the art color therapy.”

Interestingly, the artist always uses only acrylic paint, which he produces himself according to his own technology. Maybe that is why the colors on his paintings are bright and saturated and this makes the “expressionism line present in his art, this German discovery” along with a bold discovery of French fauvists (Dmytro Korsun) even more distinct.

“Exhibition ‘TERRApiYA’ is special because of the direct vision of the world through the eyes of an artist. It is full of optimism. Paintings of the artist seemed to urge people to break away from computers and TVs and look at the range of natural colors, which world gives to us,” gallerist Maksym Voloshyn shared his impressions inspired by the exhibition with The Day. “Deiak’s paintings allow a person to feel that life is beautiful. Every art work radiates special joy of life. The artist shows us not the real world with its problems, but his creative reflections on it. This, among other things, expands our imagination. Have you ever seen an emotion in its purest form? Could you believe that you can catch, perpetuate, or delay it using a brush and paints on a canvas? Come to the exhibition and see for yourself that it is possible.”

Exhibition “TERRApiYA” will be open in the Art Collection Gallery until the end of October.
